My Daffodil Experience

Last Monday on October 15th, I experienced one of the most exciting and positive moments of my life. In our county, we have a festival every year in April celebrating spring. From each of the twenty-three schools, one senior girl is chosen to represent her school as a princess. This process is very time consuming since you have to prepare a speech and be able to answer one impromptu question. However, I will let you know now that I did not win, but that was not the important part. Looking back, I have become a more confident young lady and improved with my public speaking.
As shown in the picture above, each one of the girls had to pick out a dress for the coorination. I am the second from the left and was lucky to have all of my friends running along with me.

I wore a strapless paisley print chiffon gown by Adrain Mattox. After a full day of dress shopping and four different cities (Tacoma, Tukwila, Bellevue, & Seattle), we finally found the perfect dress at the Seattle Nordstrom Rack. The best part was that it had been marked down from $300.00 to $42.00. It was also in my exact size!

I browsed the shoe section at the same Nordstrom Rack and found sapphire Fergie pumps that matched my dress perfectly. These too had been marked down $56.00.

As for jewelry, I kept it simple with Nadri Teardrop Drop Earrings and Nadri Crystal Filigree Bangle Bracelet from Nordstroms that I purchased later.

For some reason, I only recieved one bracelet and not three like in the picture. One was enough and the two pieces together created a classy look. I also put on my Irish ring for good luck which kept with the all silver theme.
By the end of the night we knew who the winner was, but we were happy for everyone and for what we had overcome.

My two best friends showed me so much support that night and through out the entire process. One was my escort and the other video taped the entire program for me. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!

All of the girls and their escorts along with other friends went to Red Robin to celebrate. Obviously, Colby, Matt, and I were a little too excited (kidding of course). We had such a fun time with great company and yummy food.

I will never forget that night and how accomplished I felt afterwards. It was so much fun dressing up, and
I even recieved a tiara! I hope this helps you to shoot for your dreams because anything is possible.

Stay beautiful,

Kaleigh

You are the music while the music lasts. -T.S. Eliot (a quote from my speech since the theme was "The Magic of Music")
