Colored Mascara

During the past few months, colored mascara has become much more popular. A few celebrities have worn this trend such as Rihanna and Maria Menounos.

Rihanna has a more subtle look while Maria's is much more dramatic. Not only does colored mascara come in blue, there are a variety of different shades to choose from. Here are some examples that I found.

Teal, purple, and orange are just a few of the possibilities to paint your eyelashes with.

This last week, I picked up Maybelline's Great Lash in Totally Teal. After putting it on, I realized how awesome of a product it is. The teal goes great with most outfits and really makes my eyes pop!
Make sure to try out this trend at school or even at a football game to show some school spirit. I hope your Friday is fantastic.

My First BP. Fashion Board Meeting

I have lately been busy with school beginning and the stress of senior year. Last Thursday, I was lucky enough to attend my very first BP. Fashion Board meeting in Seattle. We met in a large banquet room where we saw a fashion show.

Later, we broke up into our boards by stores. I loved meeting all of the girls from my area, and it was exciting to know we all had interests in fashion.

I had to take a picture outside of Nordstrom by the fall styled window fronts. I am wearing a gray snakeskin shirt-dress with a light weight gray sweater on top. My black leggings work perfectly with my FAVORITE SHOES EVER. They are Jeffrey Campbell Fredas and by far the coolest shoes I own. The bright green infinity scarf incorporates a pop of color into the outfit. Every piece of clothing that I have on in this picture is purchased from Nordstrom.

I somehow wore these 6 1/2 inch heels to school all day!
Thanks for reading my blog. I promise to post more often with more outfits and trends.

Flocked Nails

The newest nail trend all over Pinterest is fuzzy flocked nails. They can come in any color that you can find flocking powder at any craft store.

I researched on how to get this fun look, and it turns out it is very simple. Start with painting a similar color nail polish as the flocking powder that you purchased. After your manicure is completed, sprinkle the powder onto your nails over a paper plate. You can dab your nails just to make the powder is attached. It is as easy as that!

You can also do a differnt color on each nail or other patterns such as stripes.

The sad part to this trend is that the flocking powder will only stay on for a day. Also, if it gets wet more, the powder will stay on your nail for a shorter duration of time.
I will have to try this out very soon and let you know how it goes!

Warm and Cozy Sweaters

Through out this fall I know I will be wearing comfy sweaters at least once a week. In Washington, fall mornings are usually very cold with the temperature not heating up until after noon. Sometimes, I feel like dressing lazy, and it would be so simple to throw on a big sweater and leggings to still look put together.

I also found some ideas for outfits to wear to school or out with friends that include sweaters.

Here are some of my favorite sweaters from Nordsstrom BP.

Rubbish® Mesh Knit Sweater Tunic in GREY- STONEHENGE

BP. Shawl Collar Cardigan in BRICK NAVY- DUSK

Rubbish® Pointelle Pullover Sweater in CREAM-BONE

Rubbish® Open-Weave Panel Sweater in TAN- LION

I have already purchased a couple big sweaters.

Free People Burgundy Sweater

Gibson Purple Ombre Light Sweater

Both of these sweaters are from Nordstrom. My favorite is the top big burgundy one. It is so warm and comfy to wear.
Be sure to go out and pick up a big sweater. I am positive you will fall in love with it just like I did!

New Mixed with Old

Yesterday, I attended an end of the summer BBQ at one of my mom's friend's house. Since school is coming up in just a few days, I felt like trying a new outfit.
When choosing outfits, I usually start with a statement piece like my new Steve Madden tribal printed wedges from Nordstrom.

Then, I move on to what would go best with that statement piece. I needed a simple top that would complement my shoes. After looking at the colors in the tribal print, I decided to go for a navy top. Since I had not purchased a simple navy shirt for school, I opted to wear an older shirt already in my closet from Forever 21.

Finally, I focused on choosing pants. I just purchased new bright blue Fire jeans from Nordstrom BP. and figured that they would complete my outfit. For my jewelry, I have on a necklace from Nordstrom BP., heart shaped Tiffany & Co. earrings, and a silver Claddagh Irish ring I recieved from my parents.

Being that it was a very sunny but chilly day, I wanted an outfit that would be summer but have a hint of fall incorperated in it. The navy shirt does just that offsetting the bring blue jeans.

My shoes have an awesome backstory. While I was visiting my grandma in Idaho, we traveled to Spokane for the day. There was a Nordstrom Rack in the proximity so I of course had to stop. When browsing through the shoe section, I stumbled upon these Steve Madden wedges that I had just seen the day before at Nordstrom. I looked on the bottom to see the price and was shocked to find they were only $40.00 originally $120.00. They also fit perfectly as I had hoped. I was told that the sole had been refurbished, but to me they looked brand new. I definitely hit the fashion jackpot!

I thought it would be fun to style a similar look with items entirely from Nordstrom BP. Here is the outfit that I picked out.

TOMS 'Azar' Wedge in Silver

Frenchi® Sheer Chiffon Shirt in Black

Fire Skinng Jeans in Mint

Stephan & Co. Mixed Media Layering Necklace in PEARL/ CRYSTAL/ SILVER

MARC BY MARC JACOBS 'House of Cards' Logo Heart Stud Earrings in Silver

Be sure to pick up one of those items or the whole outfit on your next shopping trip to Nordstroms. I love the mint pants with the dark button down and statement metallic TOMS wedges. The black shirt and layered necklace are brand new while the rest of the items are also fairly new.

I cannot wait for school to begin so that I can wear all of my new clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I will try to take a few pictures everyday before school to show you my new outfits. Remember to enjoy your last few days of summer!

Stay beautiful,

Kaleigh
